Lahore, 30th October: Fawad Chaudhry’s statement on Pulwama attack in the National Assembly has created an uproar in India.

Baaghi TV: According to reports, the recent statement by Fawad Chaudhry in the National Assembly has created abuzz in the Indian media after the controversial statement by Ayaz Sadiq.

The statement was released by the Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry, during an address to the National Assembly, which was aired on India’s electronic and social media. He said, “We have infiltrated India and killed it. Yes, this is the success of this nation under the leadership of Imran Khan.

A video clip is circulating on social media which shows how Indian media quotes what Fawad Chaudhry said: ‘The way we have invaded and killed India after the Pulwama incident, India’s own media has been ashamed of their incompetency.

It may be recalled that on February 14, 2019, 40 soldiers were killed in an attack on a convoy of Indian security forces in Pulwama district of Indian-administered Kashmir. Relations between the two countries soured after the attack. India has accused Pakistan of involvement in the attack, which Pakistan vehemently denies.

On the other hand, the BBC has also commented on this saying that this statement of Fawad Chaudhry is being shared well on Indian social media and many users have appealed to the United Nations to take notice of it.

Major Gaurav Arya wrote: ‘Imagine … An elected representative of the Pakistani people is calling the suicide bombing, which killed 40 innocent people, the victory of the Prime Minister of Pakistan.” MajorArya says now the FATF and the United Nations should take note.

Journalist Samita Prakash wrote: “Fawad Chaudhry, the Federal Minister of Pakistan, is proud to say in the National Assembly that Pulwama attack was a great achievement of the government.”

The Times of India wrote on Twitter: “Pakistani minister acknowledges Imran’s role in Pulwama attack.” Another user wrote: “Let’s finally expose ourselves to the world.”

However, Pakistani analysts say that the Indian media is misinterpreting the statement of the Federal Minister and Fawad Chaudhry was meant to give a full response to the Indian Air Force attack in Balakot after the Pulwama attack.

Senior journalist Naseem Zahra told the BBC that Fawad Chaudhry had said so by mistake but India would definitely use it. Naseem Zahra added: “Fawad Chaudhry has said this with 100% error and infiltration which means that when India attacked, the Pakistan Air Force responded.”

Defence analyst Brigadier (retd) Farooq Hameed expressed similar views. “This is a misinterpretation by the media and Fawad Chaudhry’s statement is being distorted and misinterpreted,” he said.

He said, “Pulwama means that the operation that took place after Pulwama, the downing of Indian aircraft by the Pakistan Air Force is a great achievement of Pakistan and the Indians have not been able to come out of this defeat till date.”As Fawad Chaudhry said, it does not mean that we went and attacked Pulwama. Fawad Chaudhry only referred to this incident.

Meanwhile, Fawad Chaudhry also spoke to Indian TV channel NDTV and explained that his statement was being misrepresented out of context.

According to the NDTV website, Fawad Chaudhry said that Pakistan does not support terrorism at all.

According to NDTV, he said that the term ‘Pulwama’ is now commonly used for the whole incident and he also mentioned it in the same context.

He clarified that he was referring to Pakistan’s ‘Operation Soft Resort’ in response to India’s operation in Balakot after the Pulwama incident.
