US Company Will Pay $1300 to Watch 13 Horror Movies
Sept 14, 2021: A US based company will pay people $ 1,300 to watch 13 horror movies in October, in exchange for some insights and feedback.
The company, Finance Buzz, based in the US is seeking the services of a man named “Horror Movie Heart Rate Analyst”, who will be involved in “watching 13 of the most terrifying movies ever made.”
They will monitor their heart rate, the company announced in a release. According to CNN, the point of the work is to find out whether the size of the film’s budget affects its effectiveness.
“In honor of the upcoming spooky season, we at FinanceBuzz are dying to know whether or not high-budget horror movies deliver stronger scares than low-budget ones,” the release said, adding that, “You’ll help us discover whether or not a movie’s budget impacts just how dread-inducing it can be by wearing a Fitbit to monitor your heart rate while you work your way through the list of 13 movies.”
What are the 13 scary movies that people want to see?
The movies include; Saw, Amityville Horror, A Quiet Place, A Quiet Place Part 2, Candyman, Insidious, The Blair Witch Project, Sinister, Get Out, The Purge, Halloween (2018), Paranormal Activity, Annabelle.
There was an added benefit to the job – you got a “$ 50 gift card to cover your rental expenses to fund your awesome holiday.”
Candidates will be selected by October 1, 2021 and will be contacted by email. FinanceBuzz will ship Fitbit by October 4, 2021. The candidate will then have time to watch movies and complete assignments from October 9, 2021 to October 18, 2021. Applicants must be in the US and at least 18 years old.
This is not the only US venture paying people to watch streaming content. In January of this year, another company based in the US offered $500 for people to watch Netflix and eat pizza. Bonus Finder, an American website, was looking for a “professional binge watcher”. On its website, the company writes, “After a rocky start and lockdown returns in 2021, the Bonus Finder team wants to spread some joy by opening a new role where you will get paid to eat pizza and watch Netflix. “
