US Consulate General issues a security alert for its citizens living in Pakistan

Lahore, 19th April: The US Consulate General Lahore, Pakistan has issued a security alert in the country amid the ongoing protests by the proscribed organization Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP).

According to Baaghi TV’s report, Consulate General has issued a security alert on Monday regarding the unrest situation in the country following the protests by the banned TLP workers for the past few days.

The Consulate has received reports that the TLP protestors at Yateem Khana Chowk may initiate a march from Lahore to Islamabad in the next 24-48 hours.

The US Consulate in Lahore encouraged the US citizens in the city to avoid large gatherings, unnecessary travel, and to remain vigilant of their surroundings.

It issued directives for the following actions to be adopted by the US citizens residing in Pakistan:

· Avoid the areas of large public gatherings.
· Exercise caution if unexpectedly in the vicinity of a large gathering and/or demonstration.
· Review your personal security plans.
· Monitor local media for updates.
· Keep a low profile
