WASHINGTON, July 25 (Online): US State Department has said US have extended assistance  over 8.5 trillion to Pakistan since 2000 which is grant and not a loan.

According to national and foreign news agency, US state department  spokesperson has said US have always attached importance to the development and prosperity of people of Pakistan.

The spokesperson further said bilateral relations between US and Pakistan spanned  over 70 years which are rooted in mutual respect. There is no tension in the ties.

US are with Pakistan in education and health sectors since long. US have provided financial assistance over 8.50 trillion since 2000 and US assistance is not loan but it is grant.

The spokesperson has lauded Pakistan efforts for peace in the region. Pakistan has a crucial role in the  development and prosperity of Afghanistan.

The spokesperson said key to  Kashmir conundrum lies only in  bilateral talks. Both Pakistan and India should move forward the dialogue process. US stresses on all the countries to ensure their fundamental rights to the people.
