Usama Satti murder case, bench dissolved

The bench formed to oversee the proceedings of Usama Satti’s murder in the Islamabad High Court has reportedly dissolved. 

According to reports of Baaghi TV, Justice Fayyaz Ahmed Anjum Jundran’s term was not extended following which, the bench broke up. Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani sent a file to the Chief Justice to form a new bench. In the meanwhile, Nadeem Satti has challenged the decision of the anti-terrorism court.

Counsel for the petitioner said that the anti-terrorism court had removed the terrorism provisions at the request of the accused. Terrorism provisions were removed and the case was sent to court for the hearing. Counsel for the petitioner further requested that an order to reinstate terrorism provisions in the case be issued and that the April 12th decision of the anti-terrorism court is annulled.

Five policemen are accused of shooting student Osama Satti. The anti-terrorism court had transferred the case to the Sessions Court.

It is to be noted that relief for the police personnel who shot and killed the student Usama Satti, meanwhile, the requests of the accused to remove the provisions of terrorism was accepted. The anti-terrorism court had ruled to remove the terrorism provisions and transfer the case to the sessions court. The bail application of accused Mudassar was rejected. The court had referred the case to the district court. The plaintiff has challenged the court’s decision.
