Lahore, 7th March: The instant messaging app WhatsApp recently introduced an audio-video calling using the desktop version.

Baaghi TV: Facebook-owned WhatsApp has introduced a new feature where users can use the audio-video calling feature through their desktops.

WhatsApp said in a statement on Twitter that users can now use video and audio calling along with chat on the big screen.

WABetaInfo tweeted, “WhatsApp Desktop won’t interrupt your current call if your phone is not connected to the Internet anymore, during the call. When multi-device will be available in a future update, you can also start calls and send messages without an active Internet connection on your phone.”

The company had assured the customers that the calls made from the computer would also be made under end-to-end encrypted i.e it would be absolutely secure.

Therefore, in order to get the benefits of WhatsApp on desktop, users will have to download Windows 1064 bit version 1903, to get the facilities of Apple desktop and laptop.

WABetaInfo also clarified in its tweet that even if the mobile of the user is not connected to the internet during the call, the call on the computer will not be disconnected but will continue as usual.

However, it requires an updated version of Windows 10 and WhatsApp. If someone is using a laptop, they do not need headphones. The laptop must have a mic and speaker.

According to earlier reports, WhatsApp is also testing a new feature to set messages to disappear after 24 hours.
