A shocking video which has sparked outrage across Pakistani social media since Tuesday evening, with #ArrestUsmanMirza appearing on the top trends on Twitter. A man named Usman Mirza was seen in the video along with his friends harassing, torturing and sexually abusing a young couple.
According to the details, Islamabad police produced them in the court of Judicial Magistrate Waqar Gondal after the two-day physical remand of Usman Mirza and others seen in the video. As a result, the court granted four-day physical remand to the accused, including Usman Mirza, who had stripped the girl naked. However, the defendants’ counsel opposed the physical remand and asked the court to conduct a judicial hearing.

SSP Investigation Ata-ur-Rehman and ASP Amna Baig went to the couple’s house to record the statement and also expressed sympathy with the victim’s family. The federal police have recorded their statements under Section 161 of The Code Of Criminal Procedure, 1973.

According to sources, it has been alleged that the videos have also been recovered from the mobile phones of the arrested accused and the police have sent the mobile phone for forensics to proceed the investigation.
In this regard, Inspector General (IG) Islamabad Police, Qazi Jameel-ur-Rehman, said that Islamabad police will bring the case to a logical conclusion, which could lead to the death penalty for the accused.
On the other hand, Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan has directed that a report on the matter must be sent to the Prime Minister’s Office as well. He said that all the accused involved should be punished and such people do not deserve any concession.
