Usman Mukhtar’s film ‘Bench’ headed for Cannes Film Festival
Lahore, 6th September: Pakistan’s actor-director Usman Mukhtar’s short film ‘Bench’ has been selected at the first Cannes International Independent Film Festival (CIFF).
According to the reports of Baaghi TV, Usman Mukhtar’s short film ‘Bench’ that had previously won the award as the best short movie at the International film festival, is alls et to win hearts at the Cannes Film Festival.

The ‘Sabaat’ actor took to his Twitter account to announce that his short film with actor Rubya Chaudhry has been shortlisted for the Cannes International Independent Film Festival.

“With great humility, joy and pride do we announce that Bench has been selected at the first Cannes International Independent Film Festival – CIIFF,” wrote Mukhtar, expressing his joy at the selection.

The actress Rubya Chaudhry also expressed her gratitude on her Instagram account.

Talented director’s movie ‘Bench’ made headlines for its simplicity unleashing the struggles of a young couple at a crossroads of their respective lives.
It is written by Ali Mudar and directed by Usman Mukhtar, with the lead cast of Rubya Chaudhry and Mukhtar himself.
