According to reports, Rubya Chaudhry starring short film ‘Bench’ wins as the best film at the South Shore Film Festival, New York.

Usman Mukhtar, the actor, director, and cinematographer along with the actress Rubya Chaudhry has presented a short film by the name of ‘Bench’, which has won at the International Film Festival, a big achievement for a Pakistani filmmaker.

Usman Mukhtar, who has directed the movie has expressed his joy in receiving such a prestigious award. He wrote on Twitter that Bench wins at South Shore Film Festival and went on to thank his team. Many celebrities congratulated him on his success.

However, due to COVID-19, the film was not screened in New York, but the judges watched the movie online and then decided.

The actor revealed that the movie has been submitted to a lot of film fests, Toronto Film Fest, Cannes, and Busan to name a few. Due to the current situation, they’re screening the film online but we are yet to hear back from them.

Revealing a little on the movie, Usman said that it’s an interactive film between two people sitting on a bench. The dialogues between the actress Rubya and the actor Usman are captivating. The movie sees two people, already at difficult crossroads of their respective lives come across one another.
