Lahore, 1st July: Veteran TV actor Anwar Iqbal has passed away in Karachi at the age of 71.

According to reports, renowned senior actor Anwar Iqbal breathed his last on Thursday in Karachi.

The news was confirmed by the late actor’s brother. However, the cause of the death is still not known.

As per reports, Anwar Iqbal’s funeral prayers will be offered today after Isha prayer.

It maybe recalled that the actor was seriously ill for some time. His daughter has appealed to his fans to offer prayers for his health.

According to details, Iqbal was suffering from prolonged kidney disease and was being treated at a hospital in Karachi for months.

71-year-old actor has rose to fame after his character in PTV’s famous drama ‘Shama.’ He also acted in few Sindhi dramas too.

His first drama as a director was ‘Ishq Pecha’ in 1984 and directed some Urdu and Sindhi dramas too.
