Violation of lockdown SOPs, more than 50 shops sealed

Lahore, 14th May: After the government’s order to ease the lockdown and the traders can open their shops, a trend in disobeying the SOPs has been observed in the markets.

According to reports of Baaghi TV, the SOPs set by the government regarding the prevention of coronavirus are not being followed by the public and they are seen in large quantities in the markets, due to which the government is planning to seal many markets.

 

The district administration of Lahore is in action against those who are violating SOPs for the pandemic, 45 shops in Shah Alam Market, and 7 shops in Choongi Amarsadhu are sealed.

District administration is active against shopkeepers who do not implement SOPs, DC Lahore Danish Afzal said that shopkeepers who are not implementing SOPs are being closed down. Assistant Commissioner Model Town Zeeshan Nasrullah Ranjha sealed Pace Mall Link Road Model Town as SOPs were not being implemented.

Lockdown eases and the number of reported deaths increases

Assistant Commissioner Shalimar Mehdi Malov has issued warnings to shopkeepers and consumers in Garhi Shahu Bazaar and HarBanspura Bazaar, instructing shopkeepers to implement SOPs, otherwise, the shops will be sealed in the next round. Implementation of SOPs is being ensured to prevent further spread of the coronavirus.

According to the district administration, there was a rush of shoppers in the shops in the markets. Buyers and shopkeepers in the shops were found to be violating SOPs. These SOPs include practices such as providing hand sanitizers in stores and ensuring that social distance is maintained.

Consideration was given to close some markets immediately after the violation of government measures in Punjab yesterday and to close Hall Road, Shah Alam Market, Anarkali, Azam Market in Lahore.

On the other hand, all the markets inside Lahore were sealed in connection with Yum-e -Ali. Police closed several markets including Shah Alam Market, Akbari Mandi, Circular Road and set up barricades while the entrances and exits of the bazaars were also sealed.

Traders say that the markets have been sealed without any notice from the management. If the management had informed in advance, the shopkeepers would not have placed their trade orders for today.

Earlier, Punjab Minister for Commerce and Industry Mian Aslam Iqbal had said that encroachments in the markets should be stopped, or else the administration would conduct corona tests in the markets. The citizens are requested to wear masks and do not bring children to the market.
