During the protests, four policemen were injured by protestors throwing stones. Police claim the man killed in encounter was armed with a dagger. According to news channel NBC, four police officers were injured when violence erupted during a protest in front of a police station. Officers injured in the stoning had to be taken to hospital.

A 27-year-old man with a dagger in his hand, identified by officials as Walter Wallace, is seen walking towards two police officers, according to a video that surfaced on social media about the shooting. Police officers at gunpoint are warning Walter to drop his dagger.

According to Reuters, the video which was made by a passerby, could not immediately confirm the video was spread on social media. As can be seen in this video, two policemen are pointing guns at a man named Wallace who was walking down the street.

According to the video, the man approached the policemen who move their guns backwards and ask him to throw the knife. The two police officers then fired several shots, which showed Wallace falling to the ground.

Clashes erupted between local police and protesters after Wallace’s death. City Mayor Jim Kenney and Police Commissioner Danielle Outlaw said in separate statements that the incident had raised questions and is being investigated. Jim Kenney says the police department will conduct a full investigation into the incident. The police commissioner says he is aware of the public outcry over Wallace’s death.

Hundreds of people took to the streets to protest the shootings, and clashes between protesters and police have sometimes led to violent incidents. Dumpers were set on fire during the protest.

According to preliminary information from police, four officers were injured during the protest, most of whom were hit with bricks and stones. An officer was rushed to hospital in a stable condition with one leg injured after being hit by a strip-up truck, police said.

This is the latest in a series of violent incidents of this nature. Earlier, anti-racism protests began in May this year when a black American citizen, George Floyd, was shot dead by a former police officer in the US state of Minnesota. The police officer was sitting on the victim’s neck for a long time, which led to his death.

In the United States, a black man died in police custody in New York in 2014. A black man named Eric Garner was arrested on charges of illegally selling open cigarettes.
