Virgin Atlantic to commence flight operations to Pakistan
Virgin Atlantic Airways will commence flights between the United Kingdom (UK) and Pakistan starting this Monday, December 7, 2020.
According to the details, the UK based airline will start flight operations for Pakistan from December 7, 2020. In this regard, Virgin Atlantic has released the schedule of air operations for Pakistan. Flights are set to launch from London Heathrow to Lahore from December 7, Manchester to Islamabad on December 10, and London Heathrow to Islamabad on December 12.
Sources said that the British airline Virgin Atlantic Pakistan will use the modern Airbus A332 for the operation, however, preparations for starting flights for Pakistan have been completed.

In addition, slots and flight schedules have been issued by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) of Pakistan. The Civil Aviation Authority has allowed Virgin Atlantic Airlines to land seven weekly flights to Pakistan.

According to sources, CAA’s Director Air Transport & Economic Regulations, Air Commodore Irfan Sabir has issued a notification to Virgin Atlantic for Lahore and Islamabad. As per the notification, the airline has not been allowed to directly fly from Manchester to Pakistan.
CAA sources said that the cargo plane of the airline will reach Lahore on December 7 and 9 with its cargo and crew. Virgin Atlantic Airlines’ first flight will fly from London to Lahore on December 13. The flight will arrive in Lahore on the morning of December 14. British diplomatic staff and CAA officials will receive passengers at Lahore Airport.

Sources said that Virgin Atlantic will operate 4 weekly flights from London to Lahore and 3 weekly flights from London to Islamabad. Passengers will have access to Virgin Atlantic Airways flights directly from Lahore and Islamabad to London.
