Walk-in vaccination for people aged 40 and above to start from tomorrow
Lahore, 11th May: Pakistan has opened walk-in vaccination for people aged 40 till 49 from May 12.
Federal Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar has announced that a walk-in facility for people aged 40 and above will open from May 12 at the coronavirus vaccination center.
The minister took to his Twitter account and wrote, “Starting from tomorrow May 12 all citizens aged 40 plus who had registered will be able to get vaccinated.”
He added that the vaccination centers are open during this week and will only be closing for two days for Eid-ul-Fitr.
Starting tomorrow the 12th of May all 40 plus who have registered will be able to walk into any vaccination center of their choice and get vaccinated. Please note that vaccination centres are open and will only be closing for two days on eid.

In a series of tweets, Asad Umar pointed out that the death rate in people below 40 years has increased during the third wave of coronavirus pandemic in Pakistan.
Only 7% of Pakistan population is above the age of 60 and 53% of all covid deaths have been in this age bracket. Conversely 77% of Pakistan population is below the age of 40 and only 9% of total covid deaths in Pakistan have been in this age bracket
