Occupied Jerusalem: The annexation of the West Bank will be an act of war. According to reports, Hamas who governs the West Bank and Gaza, said that Israel’s seizing of some parts of the West Bank will be an announcement of war, while a delegate of the United Nations warned that such an act can give rise to extremism.

It should be clear that despite the opposition of the Palestinians and the international community, the Israeli Prime Minister has announced his plan of annexing the West Bank.

According to sources, while addressing on TV, the military wing of Hamas said that the measure will become the reason for war with Palestine. The spokesperson of the military wing Abu Ubaida said that the resistance movement considers against the annexation of West Bank and Jordan valley as an announcement of war against the nation.

It may be remembered that there have been harsh sanctions from Israel ever since the Islamic movement of Hamas took over control of the Gaza Strip. There have been three wars between Israel and Hamas in the recent years. The most recent clash was in 2014 when Israel killed 2251 Palestinians while losing only 74 of its own.

The proposal for integrating Israeli settlements in West Bank and Jordan Valley is a big part of the peace settlement put forward by America in January. These proposals spoke of the final creation of a Palestinian state in the Gaza Strip and other areas of the West Bank. However this plan did not live up to the hopes of the Palestinians, because it gave them few areas and also did not include East Jerusalem being the capital.

Palestinian officials had cut off diplomatic relations with Washington for its support of Israel’s claim, in 2017, and had also rejected the peace proposal.
