Qibla Ayaz, chairman of the Islamic ideological council, has clearly stated that it is not necessary for a person to take permission from his first wife before the second marriage.

According to the report, it is said in the law of Pakistan that there should be permission from the first wife for the second marriage. In view of this, Qibla Ayaz has said that taking permission from the first wife for the second marriage, although there is legal need, but this is not a necessity for Sharia.

According to media reports, the chairman of the Islamic ideological council, Qibla Ayaz, described his views on second marriage, saying that Islam did not ask for permission from the first wife for the second marriage, but according to the Pakistani law, it is necessary to take permission from the wife and the reconciliation committee. And if he violates, there will be punishment and penalty but another marriage will remain.

Today, Islamabad High Court has declared permission of reconciliation council for second marriage, despite permission from the first wife. Chief Justice of the Islamabad High Court, Athar Minallah, while giving a written decision, declared that despite the permission of the first wife, if the reconciliation council refuses to permit for second marriage, and the person still goes for it then he would be punished. According to the Muslim Family Act, 1961, without the consent of the reconciliation council the person who will be marry will be fined and punished.

The statement of the Qibla Ayaz chairman of the Islamic ideological council has come after the High Court’s decision.
