Chaos erupts at Starbucks as workers allegedly hoard the new bear-shaped cups. Fans waiting in long lines till midnight become outraged.

With the holiday season in town, the coffee chain came out with Glass Starbuck Bearista Cold Cup on Thursday morning. Under a minute, all cups got sold out. People across the globe went through great lengths to get their hands on one. However, the Starbucks employees allegedly scooped them all.

A customer named Trisha posted on TikTok saying: ‘POV: We waited outside since 2 am for the Starbucks bear cup but the employees took them all before we could.’ According to her, she was seventh in line when she arrived at the Starbucks in her local Kroger at 2 am, and was told that the branch had 6 cups left.

As she decided to wait, four hours later at 6 am, the store opened and she walked in to see the employees purchasing the cups. ‘Employees were checking out the cups before we could even get them, after we waited in line for them,’ she said.

A spokesperson from Starbucks talked to Daily Mail saying, ‘The excitement for our merchandise exceeded even our biggest expectations. ‘Despite shipping more Bearista cups to coffeehouses than almost any other merchandise item this holiday season, the Bearista cup and some other items sold out fast. The company did not specify whether more cups would be released soon, but added that there will be ‘more exciting merchandise coming this holiday season.’

Reports further reveal that Starbucks is going to lay off around 900 staff and close 100 cafes all across North America. The company is calling it a restructuring plan to revive the world’s largest coffee chain. Due to protests and boycotts, the coffee chain is reported to lose a huge chunk of its revenues which is causing the need for restructuring. In Malaysia alone, Starbucks’ revenue dropped down to 477 million Malaysian ringgits ($113 million).
