At the last hearing, the accountability court, had extended the physical remand of PML-N president Shehbaz Sharif for seven days, in a money laundering reference.

In the courtroom, Shehbaz Sharif had said, “I have a back problem. NAB officials have snatched my chair. They have provided me with an ordinary chair on which to sit, pray and eat. This move of NAB has further aggravated my back pain and suffering. NAB has confiscated the chair at the request of Imran Khan Niazi and Shehzad Akbar”.

The court asked, on what grounds does the investigating officer want further physical remand of the accused? The investigating officer said that, money is transferred to Afzal Bhatti from Shehbaz Sharif’s accounts in HBL Bank, Jail Road. Afzal Bhatti is his accountant in the UK. We are inquiring the source of this money.

Shehbaz Sharif argued on the rostrum that, in 2005, I bought the first property in UK. I am undergoing treatment for cancer. My life and death is for Pakistan, so I came to Pakistan in 2004. When I went to London I thought it was not possible to pay rent there, so decided in 2005, that I will not reach out to the Queen if I run out of money. So I bought the first property in London”.

Shehbaz Sharif said, “I returned home after undergoing cancer surgery. I knew that dictator Pervez Musharraf would put me in jail. If I had that much money, I would be happy in London instead of coming back. Dictator Pervez Musharraf did not allow me to land in Pakistan”.
