Lahore, 1st January: Lahore CCPO Omar Sheikh has been removed from his post today and Ghulam Mahmood Dogar has been appointed in his place.
According to reports of Baaghi TV, Ghulam Mahmood Dogar, former DIG Lahore, is one of the most professional, competent, honest and conscientious police officers of Pakistan Police Service.
He was currently serving as DIG Technical Procurement in Central Police Office. Before that, he had performed his duties in very important positions in different cities of Sindh, Balochistan and Punjab.
Ghulam Mahmood Dogar was born in 1963 in Sialkot district of Punjab. He holds BSc degrees in Civil Engineering and MSc. Ghulam Mahmood Dogar joined the Pakistan Police Service as SP in 1993 and belongs to the 21st Common.
Early in his career, Ghulam Mahmood Dogar served as AS Nawab Shah Sindh, ASP Pannu Aqil and ASP Khairpur, after which he went abroad on a UN mission for a year and a half. On his return, he served as ASP Jamshed Quarter.
After promotion as SP, Ghulam Mahmood Dogar moved to SP Gulshan Iqbal Karachi, SP Central District Karachi, SP Headquarters. SSP Security Karachi, DPO Naseerabad and SSP Operations Quetta. Dogar also held the post of Additional SP President, SP Legal / D&I Lahore TTO Lahore.
After promotion to SSP rank, Ghulam Mahmood Dogar held the posts of CTO Lahore, SSP Analysis CID Punjab, AIG Training CPO, Punjab, after which he was promoted to CPO Gujranwala.
Ghulam Mahmood Dogar also served as DIG Operations Lahore for about a year. After promotion to DIG rank, Ghulam Mahmood Dogar held the posts of CPO Multan, DIG R&D, CPO Punjab and RPO Sahiwal while the additional charge of SPRIB Sahiwal was also given to him.
