Why was IG Sindh Mushtaq Mehr removed?

Karachi, 22nd October: Who is IG Sindh Mushtaq Mehr? Why was he removed from the office on the order of Supreme Court? 

Baaghi TV: According to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), IG Sindh Mushtaq Mehr harassed the two witnesses in the money laundering case in 2018 at the behest of some political figures.

Former Karachi Police Chief Mushtaq Mehr was removed from his post following an investigation into a court order for allegedly influencing the Sindh money laundering case and trying to divert two key witnesses through policing.

 According to sources, the action was also taken against two former SSPs of Karachi on the same basis.

According to the report of Siyasat.pk, FIA said that the money laundering case of Rs 40 billion was fabricated by the central government of Sindh. They used to go for political roles. In connection with the investigation of this case, two key witnesses were about to be pardoned when former Additional IG Karachi (now IG Sindh) Mushtaq Mehr allegedly called both the witnesses in the money laundering case at the behest of some political figures after Sindh. 

On his orders, the houses of two witnesses Noorin Aslam and Ali Hassan Rashdi were raided in Gulistan-e-Jauhar area of ​​East Karachi and Gizri area of ​​Karachi South and the police terrorized them.

When the case went to the Supreme Court, the two affected witnesses levelled serious allegations against the police, on which the high court also summoned former Sindh IG Amjad Salimi and questioned him in this regard.

On the ignorance of the Sindh police chief, the court ordered an inquiry into the matter. When Additional IG Aftab Pathan inquired into the matter, he in his report held Additional IG Mushtaq Mehr, SSPs of both the districts and several police officers responsible.
