Wife of Governor Punjab launches Free Eye Camp move
Lahore: Begum Perveen Sarwar, wife of Governor Punjab, has launched a new campaign of “Free Eye Camp”.
Free check-ups, as well as free operations, will be conducted in urban and rural areas.
Free medical camps will also be set up for women and children. On the first day of the three-day free eye camp in Tehsil Sangla Hill of Nankana Sahib, more than 300 patients received free check-ups and free medicines. The ophthalmologists also carried out free cataract surgeries.
According to the details, under the supervision of the wife of Governor Punjab and Chairperson Sarwar Foundation Begum Perveen Sarwar, a new campaign of free medical camps for underprivileged people has been started in Lahore and other cities of Punjab. In the first phase, a three-day free eye camp has been organised in Nankana Sahib. During the camp, specialist doctors and medical staff examined more than 300 eye patients including men and women on the first day and also provided them free medicines. Eye surgeons conducted free cataract surgeries and vision glasses were also given to patients.
Begum Perveen Sarwar while talking to the media said that Sarwar Foundation is running three hospitals to provide free healthcare facilities to the underprivileged people while at the same time we also organize free medical camps in urban and rural areas, adding that she believes that there can be no greater service than the service of humanity. She said that our free Medical Camps and Eye Camps are organised regularly in the backward and underserved areas of Punjab. These camps benefit thousands of needy patients as they are provided with free check-ups, medicines and even cataract surgeries are also done for free, she said
Perveen Sarwar said that Sarwar Foundation has become one of the largest NGO providers of clean drinking water in Pakistan,adding that our Water Filtration Plants are providing potable water to over 2.2 million people on a daily basis. She further said that we are also installing Solar-Powered Water Pumps in rural areas across Punjab so that clean water is accessible to those who don’t even have the privilege of water taps in their homes. While urging the philanthropists to come forward and help their brothers and sisters in need, she said that in these testing times, we must not forget those who struggle for even the basic necessities of life like clean water and quality healthcare. From the platform of Sarwar Foundation, we are striving to make clean water and quality healthcare accessible to all, she added.
