Wikipedia Declares Senior ANP leader ‘Dead’, raising concerns about its Factual Credibility

CAHRSADDA: Despite concerns raised by critics about its factual reliability, Wikipedia continues to promote bogus and unauthentic details on its website. According to Baaghi TV’s report, Wikipedia has reportedly declared senior Awami National Party (ANP) leader, Asfandyar Wali Khan dead.

According to the page dedicated to the senior ANP leader, Asfandyar Wali Khan passed away on 31st October, 2024, however, no cause of death has been mentioned. On the other hand, although researchers and critics alike have repeatedly questioned the lack of methodical fact-checking and apparent political bias on the website, Wikipedia fails to improve upon its standard of reliability or lack thereof.

The bogus claims have been cross checked by Baaghi TV’s correspondent in Charsadda, who has confirmed that neither the claims surrounding Asfandyar Wali Khan’s death are real, nor has there been any confirmation on the political party’s official X (formerly Twitter) profile.

On the other hand, earlier today, the ANP held a rally in Charsadda where many central figures were seen wearing party caps. According to a tweet on the party’s X profile, former candidate of JUIPK 65, Muhammad Ahmed Khan, along with colleagues joined the Awami National Party, where they were welcomed by the party’s Central President Aimal Wali Khan wearing party caps.
