According to Baaghi TV, a meeting on educational institutions was held under the chairmanship of Federal Minister Shafqat Mahmood.
The meeting was attended by education ministers from all the provinces. It was decided at the meeting that a meeting would be convened again next week in which a final decision would be taken. The meeting considered the proposal to announce winter holidays from November to January. The final decision on the winter holidays will be made by the National Coordinating Committee.
Punjab Education Minister Murad Rass says no decision has been taken to close schools in Punjab. There will be another meeting on November 23rd regarding the closure of educational institutions due to COVID-19.
Federal Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood said that the lives of students and teachers are most dear to us. The final decision regarding educational institutions will be taken by the National Coordinating Committee. It is also proposed to extend the winter holidays. Punjab Education Minister Murad Rass says he is not in favor of closing schools. Educational institutions that report corona cases are being sealed off, and schools will have to close if the situation is the same as in the past.
In two months in Punjab, 472 institutions have been sealed, 265,370 public and private schools have been tested for corona.
The number of sealed educational institutions in Islamabad has reached 120.
Dr. Faisal Sultan, Special Assistant for Health, said that the second wave of corona virus has gradually started in Pakistan. To deal with the second wave, SOPs will have to be strictly adhered to. By taking precautions we can deal with the second wave of corona.
