Afghan Taliban expressed willingness to visit Pakistan if Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan extends an invitation to them, on Thursday.
According to reports of Baaghitv, Taliban Spokesperson Sohail Shaheen released a statement on Thursday from Political office of Taliban in Doha, which reads, “We frequently visit countries within the region and would surely go to Pakistan, too, which is our Muslim neighbour,”
The Taliban made the statement following the PM Imran Khan’s maiden official visit to USA, in which the focus of talks between the leaders of two countries, was on ending war in Afghanistan which has been going on for 18 years, the longest one in the US history. In the meeting, both leaders pledged to end war in Afghanistan through dialogue and urged the Taliban to speak to Afghan government which has been the stumbling block in the peace process so far.
Taliban spokesperson gave the nod to visit Pakistan, when PM Imran Khan extend them an invitation as Pakistan is their neighbouring Muslim country.
