Work on cleaning the drains of Karachi in progress

ISLAMABAD, August 6 (online Int’l): The work on cleaning of drainage in Karachi continues till the third day on the directives of Prime Minister.

Tomorrow will be the last day to achieve the target, according to statement issued by spokesperson National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), Frontier Works Organization (FWO) is working on Gujjar drainage, Korangi drainage and Moach Goth drainage.

There were choke points on total 42 places in three big drainages, till now 35 choke points have been cleared , 80 percent of the work on Gujjar drainage , Korangi drainage 85 percent and Moach Goth drainage 75 percent has been cleared.

Yesterday 10000 ton waste has been taken out from drainage. FWO has been assigned a task to clear the drainage till 8 august.

The work is going on with full pace to achieve the target. Chairman NDMA is in contact with FWO and other related organizations. Prime Minister is being updated on daily basis about the progress of work.
