Workers will die of hunger not the disease: Siraj-ul-Haq
Lahore, 1st May: Pandemic has crippled not only the health sector but the economy of the world has been affected badly. In Pakistan, the working class had been hit the hardest due to the economic crunch.
According to the report of Baaghi TV, Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, Senator Siraj-ul-Haq has said that the coronavirus has destroyed the global economy. The closure of industries and businesses has caused the most damage to the working class all over the world.
Senator Siraj-ul-Haq further said that the workers who survived the coronavirus are dying of starvation. The government has not given any relief to the workers and farmers. Due to high prices and unemployment, people are surrounded by worries and difficulties.
How could PML-N help the labor class?
Siraj-ul-Haq further said that in these circumstances, it was necessary for the government to take emergency measures and provide practical help to the poor workers to save them from death, not from the disease but hunger. The government should deliver rations to the homes of daily wagers.
Senator Siraj-ul-Haq further said that this time Labor Day has come in very unusual circumstances, workers have been most affected due to Corona lockdown.
Lockdown is an inevitable process to avoid this epidemic, but the pitiable situation of the working class has become more apparent.
So this time, instead of issuing mere rhetoric, the rulers should take practical steps to solve the problems faced by the working class. Workers are the backbone of our country so they need to be looked after more in this time of need.
