World Milk Day 2020: A glassful of health

World Milk Day is being celebrated by several countries in the world today.

Milk is considered a complete food since time immemorial. Hence, to recognize the importance of milk, this day is observed every year on 1st June as World Milk Day.

The campaign was initiated by the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations in 2001, marking 2020 as the 20th anniversary of World Milk Day.

On this day, different communities and organisations talk about how one should integrate milk in their diets, due to its highly nutritious value. In a few parts of the world, free milk packets are given to young children on World Milk Day. Some countries organise events that people can participate in and know the long term benefits of milk
