World Tourism Day is being observed today.
This year theme of the day is “Tourism and Sustainable Transformation”.
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif have renewed the pledge to make tourism a source of national pride that showcases the best of Pakistan as world class tourist destination.
In their messages in connection with World Tourism Day being observed today, they emphasized transforming tourism into a sector based on development of people, strengthening of our economy, and preservation of our heritage.
The President said our country holds immense potential to become a hub for sustainable tourism.
The Prime Minister said tourism is a force for prosperity, unity, and peace and our goal is to make tourism a true engine of growth, creating jobs for our youth, expanding opportunities for our entrepreneurs, and inspiring hope for diverse communities in every corner of the country.
