World War III, Dark Clouds of Began to Hovering!

“World War III could break out at any time”, (Chinese media). World War III, Dark Clouds of Began to Hovering? Before reviewing the latest report issued by Chinese media.  Lets’ have a quick review to a brief “History of China-Taiwan”.

If we look at the history of the conflict between these two countries, the first people to settle on the island of Taiwan were the people of the Austronesian tribes, who came from modern China. In history of 239 AD, The Island is mentioned in Chinese official records. It was the time, when China sent a researchers’ team to study the region at sea. I have reviewed few articles via online sources. Now, I believe China claims sovereignty over Taiwan only on the basis of this historical record.

It is also matter of fact that, after the Dutch colonial period, from 1624 to 1661, the island of Taiwan was administered by the Qing Dynasty of China from 1683 to 1895. Historian reveled, from the 17th century onwards, large numbers of Taiwanese immigrants began arriving from China. Most of them were Hoklo ethnic Chinese from Fujian Province or some from Guangdong. The people who migrated to Taiwan in both ages are now the largest ethnic group on conflicted island.

In order to write an article on this very hot topic, after reviewing multiple articles i have been able to learn, the era of 1895, Japan won the First Sino-Japanese War, and control of Taiwan conceded from the Qing Dynasty to Japanese rule. On September 02, 1945, After World War II, Japan surrendered and evacuated Chinese-occupied territories.

It is pertinent to mention, The Republic of China, which was part of the Allied Powers during World War II, established its rule over Taiwan with the consent of its allies, the United States and the United Kingdom. But, Later on after few years, civil war broke out in China, and the forces of then-leader Chiang Kai-shek were defeated by Mao Zedong’s communist forces.

In the chapter of 1949, General Chiang and his remnants of the Kuomintang (KMT) government fled to Taiwan after being defeated on Chinese soil. The group, known as the “Mainland Chinese” (native to China) and in approx. calculation about 1.5 million people, has dominated Taiwanese politics for many years, even though it is makes only 14% of a Taiwanese population.

After inheriting dictatorial rule, Chiang Kai-shek’s son, Chiang Ching-kuo, allowed the process of making Taiwan a democracy after facing resentment from the dictatorship and pressure from the growing democratic movement by locals. As a result, the island’s first Non KMT (Non-Kuomintang), Chen Shui-bian, was elected in 2000.

In this regard, now let’s talk about the latest media reports, according to an article published in China’s official newspaper “Global Times” said that, the alliance between the United States and Taiwan is so offensive that it has almost exhausted the scope of any measure and has brought the region to the brink of conflict. According to the article, China warns Taiwan to stop playing with fire.

In my opinion, it is sound clear to understand the Beijing’s mode of action, in case of any further escalation China could go-off to a full-fledged war, regardless care about the devastated consequences. On the other hand, the Taiwan’s President Tsai Ing-wen has vowed to do everything possible to protect Taiwan. She clarified that dictatorship prevails over democracy without the help of allies.

In one of her articles, she said that the fall of Taiwan would have a devastating effect on regional peace and democracy. President Tsai Ing-wen called on Beijing to stop such irresponsible provocations’ over Chinese warplanes violating Taiwan’s defense zone. As per media report, despite rising tensions, aircraft carriers from six countries, including Britain, the United States and Japan, conducted military exercises in the Philippine Sea last week.

In addition to this, British and US naval patrols in the Taiwan Strait, the four-nation ACOs (Allied Command Operations) Defense Agreement and power struggles in the South China Sea continue to provoke Beijing.

While, Chinese President Xi Jinping has called for an occupation of Taiwan. After the 2016 election on the basis of sovereignty mandate, Beijing has increased pressure on Taiwan’s President Tsai Ing-wen, China increased its influence on Vietnam and the Philippines to.

Moreover, tensions over Taiwan’s status have been high for various time, but, escalated in 2019 when Xi Jinping spoke of his commitment to annexing all islands to China and reserve the right to use force if necessary.

It should be noted, recently, the United States formed new alliances to counter Beijing’s growing power, including a four-nation alliance of the United States, India, Japan and Australia. The ACOs (Allied Command Operations) Treaty and the equipping of Australia with nuclear submarines is a serious warning to Beijing.

In this connection, China adopted offensive policy by Keeping in view of US newly formed alliance, China increased the number of fighter jets flying over Taiwan’s defense zone, which is also central point in pushing Britain and Australia into future wars. In these circumstances’ The ongoing escalation could be converted into the greatest debacle and this war around Taiwan could drag the United States into it, which has a vague policy on Taiwan, as the United States has never said what it would do in case, of an attack on Taiwan.

In a recent interview, President Joe Biden said that, “if China invaded Taiwan, it would be ready for war” (As Media Reported). However, his spokesman insisted he was misrepresented. In conclusion, the United Nations (UN) has to come forward for avoiding a greatest debacle between world nuclear powers. Because, it is mandatory for prosperous environment and to maintain world peace order.
