ISLAMABAD: Baaghi TV reports a case of animal killing at a zoo in Islamabad. The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has issued a contempt of court notice to Climate Change Minister Zartaj Gul.

Contempt of court show cause notices were also issued to members of the Islamabad Wildlife Management Board. The Secretary Climate Change told the court that he accepted responsibility for the incident. Cabinet members have nothing to do with it. Islamabad High Court Chief Justice Athar Manullah remarked that the Cabinet had approved the Wildlife Board and it was also responsible.

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has rejected the Deputy Attorney General’s plea not to issue show cause notice. Secretary Climate Change Naheed Durrani was also issued a contempt of court show cause notice.

At the last hearing, contempt of court proceedings were decided against Minister of State Zartaj Gul and Special Assistant Amin Aslam. The Islamabad High Court had sought the names of those responsible from the federal government. The court had summoned the Secretary, Ministry of Climate Change and Chairman Wildlife Board in person yesterday.

The case was heard against the non-transfer of bears from the zoo despite the court order. Chief Justice of Islamabad High Court Athar Manullah asked what happened to the lions? The lawyer said the lion and tigress were being shifted to Lahore. The services of professionals were taken.

The court remarked that the Ministry of Climate Change, MCI and Wildlife Board were only playing politics. Chief Justice of the Islamabad High Court Athar Manullah said that the three departments were not ready to take their responsibility. Who would be responsible if something happened to an animal. The court had an idea that this was going to happen to the animals.

It was decided that the members of the Wildlife Board would be responsible for moving all the animals. The federal government had set up a board for the transfer of animals and submitted a notification. The court observed that none of the concerned agencies was ready to take responsibility.

Islamabad High Court Chief Justice Athar Manullah remarked that an FIR has been registered against all those responsible. All those responsible also violated the court order. Why not take action against all those responsible.

This court will take action against all those responsible, it is easy to take credit by giving a statement. How will state representatives who can’t take care of animals take care of humans?
