1,076 Indian Nationals Deported from US in 2026 So Far

India has received 1,076 of its nationals deported from the United States so far in 2026, according to data shared by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).

This figure marks a significant pace compared to 3,567 deportees for the entire year of 2025. The details were highlighted during a recent MEA briefing by official spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal.

The MEA emphasized that India verifies the nationality of individuals before accepting them as deportees. The returns are being carried out primarily through commercial flights as part of ongoing bilateral cooperation between India and the US to address illegal immigration.

Officials noted that both countries continue to work together on curbing unauthorized migration while promoting legal pathways for travel and migration.
