Sources & Attribution Policy
Our transparent guidelines on source credibility, wire service attribution, anonymous whistleblower protocols, and copyright compliance.
Effective / Last Updated: May 2026
1. Primary Sourcing & Verification
Baaghi TV prioritizes first-hand information. Whenever an investigation refers to official filings, executive orders, court verdicts, or academic research, our reporting directly links to the original documentation so readers can review the facts themselves.
2. Clear Attribution of External Reporting
When covering stories first revealed by fellow media outlets or news agencies:
- Direct Credit: The discovering publication or reporter is prominently cited by name within the first three paragraphs.
- Hyperlinking: Direct hyperlinks to the original coverage are embedded where available online.
- Wire Services: Syndicated reports from licensed wire agencies (such as Reuters, AP, or APP) carry explicit datelines and agency credits.
3. Protocol for Anonymous Sources
We protect whistleblowers and confidential informants under strict criteria:
- Necessity: Used solely when the information is of overwhelming public interest and cannot be gathered on the record without endangering the source.
- Senior Editor Knowledge: The actual identity of the source must be corroborated by the Executive Editor to confirm credibility.
- Reader Context: Readers are provided sufficient descriptive context (e.g., "a senior finance ministry official") without exposing the source’s identity.
4. Visual Media & Photography Attribution
Every photograph, infographic, and video clip utilized across Baaghi TV is verified for intellectual property compliance. Captions provide clear accreditation to the photojournalist, licensed agency, or public domain archive.
5. Corrections & Sourcing Queries
If you suspect an attribution is missing, incorrect, or requires amendment, contact our Newsroom desk directly at newsroom@baaghitv.com for prompt review.
