The 10th death anniversary of renowned Urdu writer Intizar Hussain is being observed today.
Born in Bulandshahr, British India in 1925, Intizar Hussain gained wide recognition through his novels, short stories, poetry and nonfiction.
He received several national and international awards including Sitara-i-Imtiaz from the government of Pakistan and ‘Officer of the Order of Arts and Letters’ from France.
His writings include “Basti”, Khali Pinjra, “Hindustan se Aakhri khat”, “Agay Samander Hai”, “Shehr-e-Afsos”, “Janam Kahanian” and “wo jo Kho Gaye”.
He died on this day at Lahore in 2016.
