Jaranwala: An accused dressed as a lawyer and opened fire in the court room, killing two arrested people who were presented in the court of Additional Sessions Judge, police officials said.
Details claim that in Jaranwala, city of Punjab, an alleged criminal opened fire in the court room, while dressed as a lawyer. The shooting left two other arrested people dead. The detained men were in hearing for a murder case.
According to police, the two men, Shahid and Israr-ul-Haq, were produced in the Additional Sessions Judge’s Court. Israr died on arrival at the hospital.
Police officials said that the policemen and lawyers present in the court seized the shooter and snatched his weapon. He was later arrested.
Taking notice of the incident, Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar demanded a report from the concerned authorities. Usman Buzdar said questioned:
“How the accused reached the court with arms, action should be taken against the perpetrators of negligence?”
A similar incident had taken place in Hafizabad earlier. In Sessions Court Hafizabad, the accused opened fire inside the court, killing three people and seriously injuring two others.
The accused were arrested. The incident took place in the court of Additional District Sessions Judge Nadeem Anjum Mian. It was reported that the accused in police custody and handcuffed were fired upon by their opponents. Three persons in handcuffs were killed in the firing. Police arrested the accused who opened fire on the spot and a case was registered against the accused. An investigation has been launched.
DPO Hafizabad has taken notice of the incident and taken action against the policemen on duty. According to sources, there was a long-running feud between the Jutt community and the Rajput community in Vani village of Hafizabad.
Five persons were handcuffed by the police and brought to the court. As a result of which both Wasim and Nadeem were killed on the spot while three people were shifted to Kotrama Center with serious injuries and the critically injured were referred to Lahore.
