Afghan FM arrives in Pakistan on a 3-day visit

Afghan Foreign Minister (FM) Amir Khan Muttaqi has arrived in Pakistan on a three-day visit.

Sources revealed that the FM Amir Khan Muttaqi arrived in Islamabad on a three-day visit and will meet with Trica Plus representatives on security issues.

In this regard, it is learned that Pakistan’s Ambassador to Afghanistan Mansoor Khan said that Amir Khan Mottaki would discuss bilateral relations during his visit.

Accompanied by the Afghan Foreign Minister, a 20-member high-level delegation, including Finance Minister Hidayatullah Badri, Industry and Trade Minister Nooruddin Aziz and senior officials from the Ministry of Aviation, has arrived in Pakistan.

The delegation was received by Pakistan’s Special Representative for Afghanistan Muhammad Sadiq, Pakistani Ambassador Mansoor Khan, Trade Adviser Razzaq Dawood and other officials. Representatives of the Taliban stationed at the Afghan Embassy in Islamabad were also present at the airport.

During his three-day visit, Amir Khan Muttaqi will meet his Pakistani counterpart Shah Mehmood Qureshi and other officials, as well as special envoys from China, Russia, the United States and Pakistan for Afghanistan.

Representatives of these countries will attend the Trica Plus meeting in Islamabad on November 11. The Foreign Ministry said:

“Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi would initiate the talks. Pakistan is engaged in a very important forum in the Trica Plus mechanism. We hope that the Trica Plus meeting will help in the pursuit of lasting peace in Afghanistan.”
