Ahsan Younis replaces Qazi Jameel-ur-Rehman as IG Islamabad

Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Operations Lahore Ahsan Younis has been posted as Inspector General (IG) Police Islamabad after Qazi Jameel was removed from his post earlier today.

According to the details, IG Police Islamabad Qazi Jameel-ur-Rehman has been removed from his post and he has been directed to report to Establishment Division.

IG Islamabad Qazi Jameel has been replaced by DIG Operations Lahore Muhammad Ahsan Younis under Interior Division, under Section 10 of the Civil Servants Act, 1973, with immediate effect and until further orders.

A notification of his appointment has also been issued by the Establishment Division of the Government of Pakistan.

It is to be remembered that Qazi Jameel-ur-Rehman was appointed as the Inspector General (IG) of Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) on January 7, 2021 replacing Amir Zulfiqar. He was serving in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) before he was given the new portfolio.
