Ali Zafar Defamation Case: New Developments, More Warrants…
Federal Investigating Agency (FIA) registered a case against the singer Meesha Shafi and others for launching a hate campaign against Pakistani singer-songwriter Ali Zafar on social media platforms.
According to the details, names of Leena Ghani, Haseem Uz Zaman, Iffat Omar, Hamna Raza, Maham Javaid, Ali Gull Pir, and Faizan Raza were also included in the case that was filed under Protection of Electronic Media 2016.
The FIA cybercrime wing has booked Meesha Shafi along with 8 others for their alleged involvement in a harassment campaign against the Pakistani actor Ali Zafar.

At the order of the Judicial Magistrate Muhammad Yousaf Abdul Rehman, bailable warrants of arrest of PKR 50,000 have been issued against the accused Iffat Omar. Moreover, Ali Gull Pir has been summoned through non-bailable warrants of arrest for October 6, 2021.
The application for permanent dispensation of the accused persons namely Faizan Raza, Haseem Uz Zaman, Fariha Ayub, and Leena Ghani was filed on the ground that they are permanent residents of Karachi, living with their families and doing jobs, therefore, it is very difficult for them to appear in the court. However, their counsel will appear in the court on behalf of accused persons.

As a result, the court order states that ‘Accused persons can easily attend the court as they are regularly appearing in this court on every day of hearing. Job or professional commitments are not justifiable excuse for permanent dispensation of accused persons’.
Lastly, the court also summoned Meera alias Meesha Shafi and Maham Javaid in the next hearing.

It is to be remembered that Meeaha Shafi, actor-host Iffat Omar, Leena Ghani, Fariha Ayub, Maham Javaid, Ali Gull Pir, Haseem Uz Zaman Khan, Humna Raza and Syed Faizan Raza were booked under section 20 (1) of Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act 2016 and R/W 109-PPC.

UPDATE: Development in Ali Zafar, Meesha Shafi Defamation Case
In November 2018, Ali Zafar had filed a complaint with FIA cybercrime wing, alleging that many social media accounts were posting “threats and defamatory material” against him. He provided details of some Twitter and Facebook accounts to support his claim.
Zafar stated that many of these fake accounts were connected to Meesha Shafi to launch a dirty campaign against him.
