The Association of Physicians of Pakistani-descent of North America (APPNA) is writing to you in regards to the grisly murder of former diplomat Mr. Shaukat Mukadam’s Daughter, Ms. Noor Mukadam.

First of all, we would like to extend our deepest condolences to the grieving family and hope and pray that Allah Almighty grant them patience to bear this insurmountable loss, and grant the departed with the highest of ranks in Jannat-Al-Firdous.

When a husband loses a wife he becomes a widower, when a wife loses her husband she is called a widow, when children lose their parents they become orphans but when a parent loses a child there is no word for that and there can’t be, because the pain is so immense that you cannot express or explain it in words.

Justice for Noor Mukadam – A Tragedy till date

We humbly request you, Mr. Prime Minister, to take into account the plea made by Mr. Shaukat Mukadam during the peaceful protest held on 22nd of September 2021, where he specifically requested for a speedy trial and that all involved get their due punishment. Another one of his requests to the Honorable Judges of the Islamabad Supreme & High Courts was that the influential background of the accused and his family does not impact or affect in any way the decision-making process, verdicts, and convictions.

The media frenzy involved in this case nationally and more so internationally, makes it even more imperative that the Pakistani Government and its Judiciary do right by the victim’s family, hence setting an example to the world that Justice can be attained in Pakistan devoid of any influence. This will restore faith in the Pakistani Government and the Judiciary which is very much needed in these turbulent times.
APPNA stands behind Mr. Shaukat Mukadam and we hope and pray that justice is served as swiftly as can be.
