Brit Awards to introduce gender-neutral categories next year

Britain: The Brit Awards aim to get rid of its female and male categories starting next year, and will instead introduce gender-neutral awards for local and international artists.

Various artists will now be competing for artist of the year or international artist of the year at the annual ceremony, which is scheduled to take place on 8th February, 2022.
 Brits chair and Polydor Records co-president Tom March states that it is important for THE BRITS to keep evolving ang introducing new and better ideas in the community. Now the achievements of various artists will be dubbed irrespective of their genders. The Brits took up this decision following in the footsteps of other awards shows that have dissolved gender classifications.
In the the 42nd edition of the awards show, to be held next year,  The event will also extend nominations to featured artists. Previously, only lead artists or named collaborators were recognized as nominees for this category.
