Despite ongoing tensions between India and Bangladesh, India’s aggressive actions are reportedly escalating. The Indian Border Security Force (BSF) allegedly shot and killed a Bangladeshi citizen, identified as Mohammad Rabial Islam, near the Bhagirathi Border Outpost in Murshidabad district of West Bengal, for purportedly entering Indian territory illegally.
The deceased was accused of involvement in cattle smuggling. According to a press release issued by the BSF, personnel warned Rabial Islam, but he opened fire on the BSF troops. In retaliatory firing by the BSF, Rabial Islam was killed on the spot, while other smugglers managed to flee towards the border.
