Cebu Pacific A321 sticks in grass after runway excursion at Butuan Airport

A Cebu Pacific Airbus A321-271NX became stuck in the grass during a runway excursion while preparing to depart Butuan Bancasi Airport in the Philippines.
The incident occurred as the crew attempted to make a turn to line up for departure on Runway 12. The aircraft’s nose landing gear left the paved surface, leaving the jet partially off the runway and disabled.
The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) temporarily suspended all landing and take-off operations at the airport to allow the aircraft to be recovered. Several flights were cancelled as a result of the disruption.
No injuries have been reported. The circumstances of the incident remain under investigation.
