Chinese Fishing Vessel Sunk After Clash With Argentine Coast Guard

A Chinese fishing vessel was reportedly sunk near the coast of Argentina after an alleged confrontation with the Argentine Coast Guard over illegal fishing activities inside Argentine territorial waters.
According to reports, the vessel was initially warned by Argentine authorities after allegedly entering restricted waters without authorization. Officials said the ship refused to comply with orders to withdraw and instead collided with an Argentine Coast Guard vessel during the standoff.
Following the confrontation, Argentine forces opened fire on the vessel, which later sank in the surrounding waters. No immediate official confirmation regarding casualties has been released.
Illegal fishing by foreign fleets, particularly Chinese vessels, has long been a major concern for countries across South America and other regions, with repeated accusations of unauthorized operations inside exclusive economic zones.
