CJP Founder Abhijeet Dipke Alleges Threats to Join BJP or Face Family Consequences

India: Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke on Thursday alleged that he received repeated threats during the recent student protests, warning him to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) or face trouble for his family.

Addressing a media interaction in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar after returning from the prolonged agitation in Delhi, Dipke claimed he was under constant pressure. “I was told that failing to join the BJP would spell trouble for my family,” he said, according to reports. He described it as shameful that a student was being threatened by people in high offices and questioned the value of such positions if they involved intimidating young people.

Dipke’s parents have also spoken about the alleged intimidation. His mother, Anita Dipke, said her son received a video threat warning that if he did not join the BJP, his parents would be “dealt with sternly.” She said Abhijeet initially kept the matter from them but later advised them not to watch the clip and asked them to leave their home for safety. The family stayed with relatives in the Konkan region for 16 days.

His father, Bhagwanrao Dipke, corroborated the account, stating that around mid-May the family saw a YouTube video or reel saying that if Abhijeet did not become a BJP member, “we know where your parents live and we will deal with them.”

The allegations come after Dipke led a weeks-long youth protest at Jantar Mantar against examination irregularities and the NEET paper leak issue, which culminated in the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. Dipke has maintained that CJP will not associate with any political party.

The BJP has denied claims that Dipke or his family members were threatened.
