Lahore, 29th March: With an alarming surge in coronavirus cases in Punjab, effective restrictions have been imposed by the provincial government.

According to reports of Baaghi TV, Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar has imposed new restrictions in the province to control the spread of COVID-19 during the third wave.

Baaghi TV reported earlier today that a high-level Cabinet Committee meeting was chaired by Usman Buzdar on Monday to analyze the current situation of pandemic in Punjab.

While addressing the media, Buzdar said, “We have decided to impose an effective lockdown in areas where the COVID-19 positivity rate is more than 12 per cent from April 1.”

While announcing that the current lockdown measures will be adhered till April 11, Buzdar added, “The effective lockdown does not mean that we are closing down everything.”

Chief Minister clarified that there will be no ban on business and industrial activities for the time being.

According to reports coming in to Baaghi TV, Chief Minister has issued orders that all shops and markets will be closed at 6 pm.

He said that wedding ceremonies both indoor and outdoor will remain close from April 1 till April 11.

As per his directives, the Orange Line Metro Train, Metro Bus and Speedo Bus services will also be closed from April 1.

CM further said that restaurants will only be allowed to offer takeaway services only.

Punjab Chief Minister pointed out that we are passing through the third wave of the coronavirus pandemic which is more dangerous.

Buzdar stressed the need for wearing face masks and warned that a legal action will be taken against those who will be seen without masks in public.
