Coronavirus: Pakistan Day celebrations called off

Lahore, 13th March: According to the reports of BaaghiTV, all the celebrations regarding Pakistan Day on the 23rd March have been cancelled following an outbreak of a deadly virus in Pakistan.

According to the sources, today the National Security Meeting chaired by the Prime Minister has decided that the celebrations of Pakistan Day should be cancelled and the parade of Armed Forces on the occasion of Pakistan Day has also been called off.

Every year on 23rd March, Pakistan’s armed forces, other forces and teams from all provinces represent their respective areas in Islamabad. In addition to the President, Prime Minister, Federal Ministers, foreign ambassadors and delegates, Chiefs of the Armed Forces also attend the ceremony.

Pakistan’s defence equipment is also showcased at a ceremony commemorating Pakistan’s day and highlighting the country’s integrity. Earlier, the National Security Committee chaired by the Prime Minister held a meeting about the closedown of the educational institutes across the country till the 5th of April.

The chief ministers of the four provinces attended the meeting of the National Security Committee chaired by the Prime Minister along with the Defense, Foreign, Interior and Law Ministers. While ISI chief Lieutenant General Faiz Hameed also attended the meeting to review the situation regarding the coronavirus.
