COVID-19: Decline in number of deaths across Pakistan

Number of active cases reportedly dropping across Pakistan, according to sources.

According to reports of Baaghi TV, statistics released by the National command and Operation Centre (NCOC) 8,987 cases are reported active across Pakistan. So far, there is no patients on ventilator in the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Gilgit-Baltistan and Balochistan regions.

According to reports, out of 1,920 ventilators allocated for use by COVID-19 patients, 113 ventilators are reportedly in active use. It is to be noted that 24,593 tests were conducted on the 25th of August, 2020.

Statistics by the NCOC show that 482 people have been reported as COVID-19 positive on the 25th of August. While 12 people have been declared deceased due to the novel virus in the last 24-hours. It is to be noted that from these, 11 patients were reported dead in the hospital while 1 was an out-of-hospital patient.

The following are statistics based on provincial records of testing in the last 24-hours: Sindh is reported as 8,214, Punjab as 9,908, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as 2,727, Islamabad as 2,832, Balochistan as 471, Gilgit-Baltistan as 270, AJK as 171, respectively.

So far, 278,939 people have reportedly recovered across Pakistan making it a significant count of recoveries. A total of 294,193 cases have been detected in total with AJK at 2,265, Balochistan at 12,664, Gilgit-Baltistan at 2,745, Islamabad at 15,546, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa at 35,831, Punjab at 96,466, and Sindh at 128,676.

Heavy rains wreak havoc in Karachi

It is to be noted that since the outbreak across Pakistan, 6,267 deaths have occurred from Coronavirus. So far, Sindh has reported 2,384 deaths, Punjab has reported 2,193 deaths, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has reported 1,248 deaths, Islamabad has reported 175 deaths, Balochistan has reported 141 deaths, while Gilgit-Baltistan is at 65 and AJK has confirmed 61 deaths, respectively.

Moreover, from the above reported death toll 10 people died in the hopsital and 1 died out of hospital on the 25th of August across Sindh while 1 died in hospital in Punjab. So far, a total of 2,512,337 tests have been conducted, while 735 hospitals providing COVID-19 facilities with 1,097 patients admitted across the country.
