COVID-19: The first patient to recover donates his plasma

KARACHI, 2nd April: As the situation amid the coronavirus in Pakistan is getting severe, the toll in both Sindh and Punjab provinces is on the rise, there is yet good news among the crisis.

According to reports of Baaghi TV, the first patient in Pakistan recovering from the COVID-19, Yahya Jaffrey, has been successful in donating his blood plasma to treat other patients.

As per the reports, the treatment of passive immunization in the country is being adopted on the recommendation of prominent hematologist Dr. Tahir Shamsi, which has been approved by the government of Sindh.

At a press conference, Mr.Yahya in the presence of a blood doctor at a private hospital in Karachi, Dr. Saqib Ansari and his father, recounted his story. He bravely said that the virus would become history shortly and their efforts will be remembered.

Dr. Saqib Ansari said that the machines used to treat dengue are used for the coronavirus too. 90% of corona victims do not need plasma. Doctor Saqib says they are awaiting the government’s decision to seek treatment.

National cricketer Rumman Raees was also present at the press conference and congratulated Yahya on his fight against coronavirus and donating his blood plasma. He also urged the public to be cautious and to follow the safety measures issued by the government.
