Earthquake hits Swat and surrounding areas

Earthquake tremors were felt in and around Swat in the upper part of the country.

According to the Seismological Center, tremors were felt in Swat and surrounding areas this morning. The magnitude of the quake was 4.8 on the Richter scale.

According to the report, the depth of the earthquake was 120 km while the epicenter was the Hindu Kush mountain range.

Due to the magnitude 4.8 tremor, fear and panic spread among the people and people came out of their homes chanting the Kalima Tayyaba and Istighfar. No loss of life or property was reported from the quake immediately.

It may be recalled that last month on September 26, tremors were also felt in different areas including Swat. According to the seismological center, the magnitude of the quake was 4.3 and the depth was 170 km while the epicenter of the earthquake was Afghanistan-Tajikistan border.

According to the Meteorological Department, the magnitude of the quake was 5.1 and the depth was 65 km. The epicenter of the quake was in Occupied Kashmir. Earthquake tremors have been felt.

The earthquake affected Islamabad, Lahore, Rawalpindi and Peshawar in February. The epicenter was reported at 6.4 magnitude at a depth of 80 km.
