Emergency Evacuation on IndiGo Flight 6E-6017 at Bengaluru Airport After Smoke Detected in Cabin

India: Passengers aboard IndiGo flight 6E-6017 were safely evacuated on Tuesday evening after smoke was reported inside the aircraft cabin at Kempegowda International Airport.
The incident occurred while the Airbus A321neo was undergoing pushback ahead of its departure to Chennai. The crew noticed the smoke and immediately stopped the aircraft, initiating an emergency evacuation as a precautionary measure.
All passengers and crew members exited safely using emergency slides. No injuries were reported during the swift operation. Airport emergency services responded promptly, and the aircraft was taken out of service for detailed inspection.
IndiGo stated that the evacuation was carried out in the interest of safety. The airline made arrangements for a replacement aircraft, along with refreshments and assistance for the affected passengers.
The cause of the smoke is currently under investigation.
