Former PTV Newscaster and Social Figure Jahan Ara Moeen Passes Away in Islamabad

Jahan Ara Moeen, a former newscaster of Pakistan Television (PTV) and a respected social personality, has passed away in Islamabad.
According to family sources, she died after a period of illness. Details of the exact cause of death were not immediately shared.
Moeen began her career with Pakistan Television News in 1973. She initially worked on background commentary for English news bulletins. Her skills and dedication soon earned her a place as a regular newscaster on PTV. She remained associated with PTV News until 1999 and was widely recognised for her accurate delivery, precise pronunciation, and professional on-screen presence. Colleagues remembered her for her commitment to staying well-informed about current affairs and the thorough preparation she put into every bulletin.
In addition to her media career, Moeen contributed to the field of education. She served as a visiting faculty member at several universities. She also worked as a consultant with major international organisations, including the United Nations, the World Bank, UNESCO, and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
News of her death has been met with sorrow among former colleagues in the media, academic circles, and those who worked with her on social and developmental projects. Family members and friends have begun receiving messages of condolence.
